About International Islamic University Malaysia
International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), known locally as UIA, is a public university established in 1983 and based at its main campus in Gombak on the edge of Kuala Lumpur. Founded through the joint sponsorship of the Government of Malaysia and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, IIUM was created with a distinctive mission: to integrate Islamic values and ethics with contemporary fields of knowledge, from engineering and medicine to law, economics and information technology.
