University of Wollongong Malaysia (UOW Malaysia) is part of the global network of Australia's University of Wollongong, one of the world's leading young universities. Through UOW Global Enterprises, the University of Wollongong acquired the well-established KDU institutions in 2019 and integrated them into its worldwide family of campuses spanning Australia, Dubai, Hong Kong and now Malaysia. This gives Bangladeshi students a genuinely international pathway: you study on a Malaysian campus, at Malaysian living costs, while learning within an Australian university network. The Malaysian roots run deep. UOW Malaysia grew from KDU, a pioneer of private higher education founded in 1983 and one of the first private colleges in the country to build its own purpose-built campus. Decades of teaching heritage now sit under the University of Wollongong name, with the Glenmarie campus elevated to full university status in November 2023. Today UOW Malaysia teaches across two regions. The flagship campus is at Utropolis Glenmarie in Shah Alam, Selangor, close to Kuala Lumpur, while the Penang presence includes the modern Batu Kawan campus which opened in 2020 to bring an international campus experience to northern Peninsular Malaysia. Programmes span foundation, diploma, bachelor's and postgraduate levels in fields such as business, computing, engineering, communication and creative arts, hospitality and culinary arts, and health sciences.
