About IMU University
IMU University, formerly the International Medical University, is Malaysia's first private medical and health-sciences university. Founded in 1992 as the International Medical College and granted full university status in 1999, IMU has spent more than three decades focused entirely on medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and the wider health sciences. That single-minded focus means every laboratory, clinic and lecturer is devoted to training healthcare professionals, and it has made IMU one of the most respected names in medical education across South East Asia. The main campus sits in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, close to the national sports complex and well connected by MRT and LRT, with clinical training centres in Seremban and other locations where students gain real hospital experience. IMU is best known for pioneering the credit-transfer pathway: students can begin a degree such as MBBS in Malaysia and, if they choose, complete it at one of IMU's partner universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and beyond, earning a degree from the partner institution. For a Bangladeshi student, IMU offers a rare combination — a specialist health-sciences university with strong global rankings by subject, internationally recognised programmes, an English-medium environment, and a flexible route that can lead to either a Malaysian qualification or an overseas transfer degree. It is a serious choice for anyone whose ambition is a career in medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.
