About Universiti Selangor (UNISEL)
Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), formerly Universiti Industri Selangor, was established on 23 August 1999. It was approved under the Private Higher Educational Institutions Act 1996 (Act 555) on 14 March 2000. UNISEL describes itself as Malaysia's first state-owned university, set up to help make Selangor a regional education hub. UNISEL has two campuses in Selangor. The main campus is a 1,000-acre site on Jalan Timur Tambahan, Bestari Jaya. The city campus is on Jalan Zirkon A7/A, Seksyen 7, Shah Alam. Health Sciences and Business and Accountancy programmes are taught at the Shah Alam campus. Most other programmes, including engineering, computing, education and the foundation programmes, are taught at Bestari Jaya. UNISEL offers more than 70 programmes, from foundation and diploma to bachelor's, master's and PhD level, across five faculties. International students can apply online for undergraduate programmes (Intensive English, foundation, diploma and degree) and postgraduate programmes.
