About MILA University
MILA University is a private international university set on a 142-acre green hillside campus in Putra Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, roughly 25 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and 45 minutes from the city centre. It was founded in 2010 as Manipal International University (MIU) by India's Manipal Education Group, and its purpose-built Nilai campus opened in 2011. Designed to green-building standards, the campus is known for its landscaped grounds and a scenic 13-acre lake. In 2023 the university was acquired by new owners and rebranded as MILA University, with the change of name officially approved on 16 October 2023. Since then the campus buildings have been renovated and upgraded. The university carries the registration code DU043(N) and is a full-fledged institution offering study from foundation right through to doctoral level. MILA is a multidisciplinary university with recognised strengths in business and management, engineering and computing, biotechnology and mass communication. Teaching leans on practical, applied learning, supported by extensive laboratory facilities, and the compact campus keeps lecture halls, labs and on-site hostels close together — a comfortable, self-contained environment for international students settling into Malaysia.
